Royal Legend is a luxurious safari lodge set in the Kruger National Park. It offers private chalets overlooking lush forests filled with wildlife, traditional South African cuisine, and a full-service spa.
Each chalet at the Royal Legend is fully-equipped with air conditioning, a private bathroom with a luxurious spa bath, indoor and outdoor showers. The rooms feature deluxe king size beds and private furnished wooden decks.
The chalets at the Royal Legend Safari Lounge were built with a minimum intrusion into the natural environment. Guests can enjoy clear views of the river from large glass doors.
The spa area is the ideal spot to relax after a day on safari. Professional massages, steam baths, and skincare treatments are available. The large outdoor swimming pool is surrounded by nature.
Gourmet dishes are served around a fire on the open-air deck or in the boma, a classic African hut.
Guided game drives through the Timbavati Game Reserve are offered by highly trained rangers in open safari vehicles.
Travel informationBy car:
- Coming from Johannesburg, follow the N4 in the direction of Witbank,
- Exit the N4 at the Belfast intersection and continue until the 2nd stop sign (direction of Dullstroom - R540).
- Turn right.
- Continue to Lydenburg via Dullstroom.
- In Lydenburg turn left and take the R36 to Ohrigstad.
- Continue in the direction of Hoedspruit via the Abel Erasmus Pass (JG
Strijdom Tunnel).
- Turn right in the direction of Bushbuckridge (R40) at the 2nd stop street in Hoedspruit .
- Continue for approximately 7 km.
- Turn left onto the Argyle Road (direction Eastgate/Hoedspruit Airport).
- Continue past Hoedspruit Airport on a gravel road, until you reach
Timbavati Main Gate.
- Pass through Timbavati Gate and immediately turn right, following the
signs to Zuma Zuma.

Please note that this is a Malaria Low Risk area. Both personal protection methods and anti-malarial medication are recommended.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelled up to 31 days before date of arrival, 10 percent of the first night will be charged.
If cancelled up to 30 days before date of arrival, 90 percent of all nights will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy
All children are welcome.
One child under 2 years stays free of charge in a baby cot.
One child from 2 to 12 years is charged ZAR 1650 per night in an extra bed.
One older child or adult is charged 100 % of the room stay per night and person when using existing bedding.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy
50 percent of the total amount will be charged at least 30 days prior to arrival and is partially refundable.
