Situated in Santa Lucia Estuary, Lodge Afrique offers free-standing thatched suites with full Afro-Victorian bathrooms. It features an outdoor pool surrounded by a tropical garden and an African-style bar.

All rooms at Lodge Afrique are spacious and equipped with air conditioning. Each has a private outdoor shower leading off the patio. All the suites are connected to the central lodge by a raised wooden deck pathway over the garden.

Full English breakfast is served in the central lodge, which also features barbecue facilities. The leisure area is equipped with satellite TV.

Nearby activities include horse-riding, fishing and snorkelling. Guests can also choose from a range of seasonal tours such as whale-watching, turtle-tracking or safari.

Travel information
From Durban:

- Take the N2 north -- you have the option of the toll road or the alternate
route via Stanger.
- 40 kilometers after the turn off to Richard’s Bay,
- Take the right turn off to Mtubatuba and St Lucia (R618).
- As you arrive in Mtubatuba, turn left at the stop street, then second right
(R618) to St Lucia (± 27 km).
- When you arrive in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (St Lucia itself):
- Pass over the bridge.
- Follow the road till you reach the traffic circle.
- Turn left into McKenzie Street (this is the main street of St Lucia).
- And then turn right onto Beach Road.
- Follow this road until you reach the first turn off to the right, onto Pelikaan
Street.
- Make your first turn to the left onto Garrick Avenue.
- Make your first turn to the right onto Hornbill Street.
- We are number 71 (you cant miss the big signboard on the left).
